Manufacturing Academy

Four of Corey Doyle's shop-learning sites, combined: a plain-language machining & GD&T reference, the E-3 / E-6 metallic airframe training track, curated public process videos, and a 3/4/5-axis CNC mill simulator. Orientation and memory aid only. This is not official Boeing, USAF, or USN training.

Suggested path

  1. Learn the shop words. Process chain, axes, mill anatomy, and cuts in the machining reference.
  2. Know the platforms and the metal. Platforms, Materials (alloys, tempers, alclad, sandwich/honeycomb), and Structures.
  3. Follow a part through the shop. Machines (blank, form, heat treat, chem mill, machine, holes, peen, finish, NDI) and Fixtures & tooling, then CNC tooling and reading a drawing / GD&T.
  4. Watch a part get machined. Pick a demo or aircraft part in the simulator and run it in 3, 4, or 5 axes.
  5. Keep going for two weeks. The learning path and the 14-day watch plan (progress saves in your browser), plus outside courses.

The older standalone sites stay up: machining reference, CNC mill simulator, E-3/E-6 metallic training. ME Academy is a separate, broader manufacturing-engineering course site (casting, welding, heat treat, composites, metrology, quality). It is linked here instead of merged in while its spec references and images get a separate review.
